Even the longest journey starts with the first step.
Before establishing cooperation, you must answer yourself to a few questions.

1. What distance?

Before you decide to choose a distance, you must first take a look at your health. If you’ve only recently made the decision to get up from your couch and head for the battle in the triathlon, then for starters we suggest an Ironman 1/4 distance, which is at the reach of even a beginner amateur. You should also get medical examinations done to make sure that you have no contraindications to practice sports. Remember your health is the most important. The longer the distance you choose, the more time you will need to prepare.

If you have experience in participation or in one of the triathlon disciplines and are searching for greater challenges, you can try out a start at a longer distance than 1/4 Ironman.

The most popular distances in which triathlon races are played out are:
– Sprint: 0.75 km swimming, 20 km cycling, 5 km running
– Olympic: 1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling, 10 km running
– ¼ Ironman: 0.95 km swimming, 45 km cycling, 10.55 km running
– ½ Ironman: 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, 21.1 km running
– IRONMAN: 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling, 42.2 km running
– UltraTriathlon: distances above IRONMAN

If you’ve already chosen the distance at which you want to try yourself then it’s time to find the right competition in which you will take part. If you’re a beginner triathlonist then it’s best if you choose a contest organized close to your home. Thanks to this, you will limit costs associated with transport, accommodation and decrease the stress related to travel. First see when you can register and whether there are any free slots. Don’t wait until the last moment to make the entry fee. Also keep in mind that you need a proper amount of time to get ready. Choose a distant race. An important aspect is also to check out the route on which you will compete. See if by any chance you’re not signing up for a contest with a high level of difficulty due to the number of elevations on the cycling and running routes.

If you want to participate in the most prestigious competitions organized as part of the Ironman brand, remember that you need to register for such contests in advance Even six months before the event. These contests draw crowds and there are no slots left within the first months from the moment when the organizer launches registration.

If you decide on a start in another part of the world than that close to your home, then we can guide you considering the time needed for travel and acclimatization required with the time and climatic zone change. You will receive all tips after you choose the place of your dream race.

When deciding on a start in the triathlon, each one of us has to reconcile professional responsibilities and family life with time dedicated to training. Regardless of the package you choose, individual training units are spread over 6 days, which is the most optimal solution. Day 7 is always a rest day dedicated to regeneration – you decide which day of the week it is.

Basic package: 6 workouts (1 training unit per day).
Intermediate package: 9 workouts (3 days – 1 training unit per day, 3 days – 2 training units per day).
Advanced package: 12 workouts (6 days – 2 training units per day).

Every plan is tailored individually to the contestant’s level of fitness and chosen number of training units. Such an approach works great regardless of whether we are dealing with a beginner or a triathlonist fighting to stand at the podium.

Motivation is a key element of each sports activity, which contributes to making effort in trainings and achieving sports goals. The triathlon is an individual discipline, everything will depend from your engagement and thoroughness in performing exercises during individual training sessions. We guarantee the best and proven training methods, but you must remember, that it’s not a week, but many months of regular work that will bring you the desired results.

From our experience, we know that contestants who use our plans and have a workout schedule made in advance for every week have better organization and can make the necessary time happen to reconcile preparations with professional responsibilities and private life. After a few weeks, you will get into the right rhythm and feel great joy from training. Progress will give you even greater motivation to continue your adventure in the triathlon.
